Colin's career started as a substitute for the 49ers' starting quarterback Alex Smith. In the middle of the 2012 season, Alex had a chance to play because of an injury to Colin, and led the team to the playoffs the following year. He set a record of 181-yard quarterback rushing offense, then defeated the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship game and led the team to the Super Bowl. The last time the 49ers entered the Super Bowl in 1994. But lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl.
